Priya Krishnan spent 10 years in product development for international cosmetics brands — but she kept noticing the same problem. Skincare was built for four-season climates. Lightweight formulas turned sticky. "Breathable" moisturisers pilled. SPFs left white cast on deeper skin tones.
So she built bask. from scratch, starting with local ingredients — pandan extract, hibiscus water, tropical vitamin C from kakadu plum — and tested every iteration in a WhatsApp group of 200 friends. That group became 50,000.
